In October we wrapped up the TechWomen stay in the Bay Area, and it has been a packed five weeks! TechWomen is an exchange program that brings women in STEM from Africa, Central Asia, and the Middle East to San Francisco/Chicago to network and work on impact projects. This year I was a Cultural Mentor, and it was awesome to get to know everyone.
In between all of the events we had, I coordinated two visits to the Tesla Fremont Factory (after our first tour filled up within an hour of posting!). We also did a few other smaller activities: we visited the Google Visitor Center, San Pedro Square, and even Monterey. Participating as a mentor in the TechWomen program is a huge honor. I’ve met so many amazing women, both from abroad and in the Bay Area, that have inspired me in so many ways. While the program only lasts a few weeks each fall, the connections that we’ve made will last a lifetime.
