This week, I had the opportunity to speak at the Women in Finance Online Festival. This conferenced gathered women from all over the world to talk about careers in the finance.
I was invited to attend three days of the festival. On day one, the majority of the sessions focused on our careers: how to stand out as women, why diversity is important in finance, and what to do to network effectively. Day two continued sessions on career progression, but also had speakers talk about the pandemic’s affect on finance, and what the future of finance may look like. The third day of the conference also contained presentations on working with teams, business strategies, and careers.
My presentation took place on day two, where I spoke on Career Progression in a Remote Culture. I was asked to speak on my job transition during the pandemic, and how I stand out among my peers. I talked on strategies for getting found on LinkedIn, and also how in my current job, showing up to everything that you can is important!
This was my first international conference to speak at, and it was rewarding to see attendees from Europe, North America, and South America in my session! I look forward to more presentations like this in the future.
